TP Trezza Contracting provides professional septic system inspections for residential and commercial properties across Central New Jersey. Whether you're experiencing issues, buying a new home, or just need routine maintenance, we deliver fast, accurate evaluations of your septic system’s health.

Why Septic Inspections Matter

If your home or business isn’t connected to a municipal sewer system, your septic system is responsible for safely managing wastewater. Without regular inspections, small issues can turn into costly repairs or health hazards.

Our Inspections Help Identify:

  • Failing or undersized septic systems

  • Cracks or damage in tanks and distribution boxes

  • Blockages, backups, or root intrusion

  • Overflow into drainage fields

  • Signs of environmental contamination

Don’t wait for a backup, regular septic maintenance can save you thousands in repairs.

What We Look For During a Septic Inspection

Our experienced team uses specialized tools and techniques to inspect every critical component of your system:

We inspect:

  • Septic tank structure and sludge levels

  • Baffles, tees, and tank connections

  • Distribution box flow and condition

  • Drain field saturation or pooling

  • Signs of damage or backup into the home

📷 Camera inspections are also available to check underground pipes and diagnose issues without excavation.

When Should You Get a Septic Inspection?

  • Before purchasing or selling a home

  • When you notice slow drains or foul odors

  • If your system hasn’t been inspected in 3+ years

  • After heavy usage or suspected system stress

  • As part of annual septic system maintenance

  • How Does

    A Septic System work?

septic system consists of a buried concrete tank where waste is broken down by anaerobic bacteria, which thrive without oxygen. As waste is processed, it separates into:

    • Sludge – Settles at the bottom of the tank.
    • Liquid Effluent – Flows into a distribution box and then into perforated pipes in the drainage field.
    • Scum Layer – Floats on top of the liquid effluent.

The liquid effluent is further filtered through layers of sand and gravel, allowing it to evaporate or safely absorb into the ground.

The Importance of Septic Tank Maintenance

If regular pumping and cleaning are neglected, sludge can build up and overflow into the drainage field, clogging the system and contaminating the surrounding soil. This can lead to sewage backups, surface contamination, and expensive system replacements.

To prevent these issues, it is recommended that septic tanks be pumped and cleaned every two years. While some homeowners may go ten or twenty years without maintenance, this greatly increases the risk of system failure and costly repairs.
